FaMiPA cordially invites you to our new event series <\/span>“FaMiPA informs”<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

In our many conversations, we found that the advice and support structures are little known. At the same time, it is a particular challenge for senior citizens with a migration background to find their way through the “jungle of services”. Access to the right support services for care and old age is made more difficult for them by various factors. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Perhaps you are also confronted with these questions in your day-to-day work: <\/span>What is a suitable offer? And where can I find it? How can I help the person seeking advice?<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

With “FaMiPA informs”<\/b> we want to give you the opportunity to get to know some of the advice and support services from Berlin’s elderly care and nursing services and thus provide you with important knowledge about advice and support services in Berlin. <\/span>This offer is aimed at you who are in direct contact with senior citizens with a history of migration: To social workers (from district centers, senior citizens’ meeting places, etc.), migrant self-organizations, to all those who work with or for senior citizens with a migration biography.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

You will have the opportunity to pass on this knowledge to people seeking advice and provide them with better support. In our series of events, we provide you with relevant information, close existing knowledge gaps and at the same time promote exchange and networking among each other. <\/p>

The specialist center for caregiving relatives<\/strong> introduces itself.<\/p>

The specialist unit has set itself the goal of strengthening and continuously developing Berlin’s care landscape with its existing relief and support structures for caregiving relatives. The employees are also committed to developing a culture of recognition for informal care. <\/p>

Veronika Vahrenhorst<\/strong>, head of the specialist office for family caregivers, andAnke Weber<\/strong> will present their work and be available to answer your questions.<\/p>

Seniorennetz Berlin <\/strong>presents its work.<\/p>

One in five people are affected by poverty in old age, and many suffer from loneliness. The AWO wants to counteract this with its senior citizens’ network. At the same time, many matters can only be dealt with online, which presents many people with challenges.<\/p>

Seniorennetz Berlin has been helping older people to find their way around the digital world for more than five years. This is done via digital enablement offerings and, in particular, via the website. Take a look at our website in advance: www.seniorennetz.berlin.<\/a> <\/p>

Competence Center for Care Support (KPU) <\/strong>presents its work.<\/p>

The Competence Center for Care Support informs people in need of care and caregiving relatives about services to support care at home. It strengthens care support services in Berlin through advice, networking and training. These include the offers for support in everyday life, which can be used with the relief amount, as well as the PflegeEngagement contact points with their care self-help offers. <\/p>

The central objectives are networking, the development of cooperation structures, greater transparency and quality assurance of the services.<\/p>

Tatjana Stickel<\/strong>, <\/strong>Head of the Care Support Competence Center, will introduce you to her work and will be available to answer your questions.<\/p>

The Berlin care support centers <\/strong>introduce themselves.<\/p>

At the care support centers in all Berlin districts, people seeking advice receive information, advice and support on all aspects of care and old age. The advice offered by the care support centers is free and independent. <\/p>

The aim of the work of the care support points in Berlin is to improve care for older people and people in need of care, to inform the Berlin population about preventative services, care insurance benefits and social assistance. Information from the advisory work of the care support points and networking contribute to the further development of advisory and support structures. <\/p>

Migrant seniors are one of the fastest growing population groups in Berlin. However, they still do not have equal participation in and access to Berlin’s elderly care and nursing care system. We want to enter into discussions with as many stakeholders as possible in order to jointly promote equal rights in the city. <\/p>
